Florida

On Tuesday Donna and I took a trip to visit my parents in the Daytona Beach area. Of course we rode. After all, the Magic Carpet is a touring bike. Instead of taking interstate highways all the way, we only took them part of the way. Once we got into Florida we cut diagonally across the state on Florida Highway 100. This route was actually shorter in distance and didn’t add very much time. According to the GPS our trip door to door was 463 miles and a total of 7 hours and 38 minutes riding time.
Today on Wednesday we went out riding around and to lunch on the water. Of course I had to take Donna to lunch at Boondock’s On The Water for the crabcakes sandwich. While eating we were joined by an egret. After lunch we rode “The Loop” up in Ormond By The Sea. After The Loop we stopped in at BMW Motorcycles of Daytona Beach to look around. It seemed they had more Ducati and Triumph accessories and apparell than BMW. From there it was back to Mom & Dad’s for Happy Hour. This is a neat time of year in Daytona Beach being between Spring Break and summer vacation.
Oh by the way, the said a big alligator was pulled fromthe pond behind the house last week.
